About

Welcome to When Elsewhere Beckons, a space where I document everything I wish to remember about my trips around the world to reflect and learn for future adventures, with the hope that it may also be helpful for others planning their own journeys.

In 2024, I gave up my flat in Edinburgh to travel fully and work as a digital nomad. Much of this blog will therefore focus on travels that allow me to work remotely while enjoying a slower travel experience.

As an avid hiker, I try to combine culture and nature in every trip, including day hike blogs (often featuring the Scottish Highlands).

While the purpose of this blog is predominantly to begin documenting my travels, the hope is that it can eventually morph into a somewhat useful tool for others to plan their own adventures. I’ll share my travel experiences and cleaner itineraries I’d recommend based on those experiences.
